Youths cited in vandalisms
Three juveniles were apprehended Thursday, July 25 after starting a fire on the stage of the band shell in Kiel City Park, according to Police Chief Dave Funkhouser.
The chief was on bike patrol at about 5:30 p.m. when he rode up on the youths and caught them with a fire going.
The youths were questioned about a fire which was started in a trash can in the park several weeks ago but denied being involved in that incident.
They were turned over to their parents who, according to the chief, brought them back to the park to clean up graffiti they had written on the floor and walls of the band shell. Citations also were issued for numerous violations including vandalism.
