Visitors will be prompted by surveys
|Surveys keep site free|
|Your cooperation with the new survey system is appreciated. It helps us operate this site without installing paywalls.|
In an effort to keep iwantthenews.com a free site, Delta Publications is asking the cooperation of our visitors. Beginning this week, visitors will be prompted to complete brief surveys to complete reading stories posted to our website. The surveys are operated by Google jointly through our software provider 1UpSoftware.
Most surveys will be one or two questions. In some cases they may be longer. When asked to complete longer surveys, readers will be rewarded with a short period of time on the website where they won't have to answer any surveys-perhaps one or two days, dependent on the length of the survey.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation. By installing this system of revenue support for our website, we are able to keep the site free from a paywall system.
Other newspapers allow readers to access a few articles online for free each month or week. Unlimited access, however, is only available to subscribers.
We have not gone that far. All of the content on our website can still be accessed for free.
But to keep it that way, we have had to take a few steps to generate revenue from the website. We sell advertising on iwantthenews.com, for example, and offer our online audience deals from local businesses through Iwantdeals.biz, local car searches through Cars920.com and job-matching through Jobs920.com. These surveys are merely one more facet of our effort to keep iwantthenews.com free and accessible.
Thanks for completing the surveys and thanks for supporting iwantthenews.com.
