Term limits for Chilton Area Community Foundation (CACF) affiliate board members will not be established at this time.
The decision made by the CACF affiliate board members was made at its December meeting.
Members not only feel the need for continuity among the board, but also feel a natural attrition creates periodic turnover, bringing in fresh ideas and thinking. Recently an intentional step was taken to expand the board membership. The affiliate board brought in new blood by increasing its membership from seven to 12 members.
The CACF affiliate board raised the issue of term limits because affiliate boards in Shawano, Clintonville and Waupaca have adopted term limits for their board members.
The Chilton and above-mentioned Foundations have local oversight by affiliate boards because they are affiliated with the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, Inc., a nonprofit public charity.
In spring of 2010 the three year terms end for affiliate board members Greg Garton, Paul Hugo and Don Kampfer. Kampfer who has served on the board since CACF's inception in 2001 has expressed a desire to end his service. Kampfer's special contribution to the board and CACF has been preparing publicity pieces including informational brochures and a quarterly newsletter issued to CACF members and distributed at key locations such as the public library, and the offices of attorneys and financial advisors. He also provided updated information for the city of Chilton Web site link to CACF. Kampfer was also aggressive in organizing CACF's annual golf outing which has done well financially and serves as a chief source for the funding of community grants.
A development committee has been established to prepare a brochure for public distribution containing more current information about CACF.
The CACF's annual meeting is slated for Tuesday, April 27. The event will take place at Hickory Hills Country Club. Invitations are sent to CACF members and 2009 grant recipients are invited as guests.
The CACF affiliate board will meet next at Chilton City Hall on Tuesday, March 23 at 4 p.m.
