|Q: What should I be doing to get my house ready for the winter months ahead?|
|A: There’s a couple things you should do right now. First, prevent frozen pipes. Potential problems area is where pipes are exposed to the outside, such as a crawlspace vent or small holes. Use insulation and, if you can, close the vents during winter. Make sure you do whatever it takes to provide an air-tight seal around doors and windows, also install pipe insulation kits to wrap pipes.
Another good idea is to reduce draft with window kits. Shrink window kits are a part of a complete window insulation solution that quickly and easily solves the drafty window problem. They’re made of a clear plastic sheet that shrinks tightly and wrinkle-free. Your shrink window kit easily installs to most frame surfaces.|
|Q: How do i brighten up or room or give it more depth?|
|A: Paint is a great, relatively inexpensive way to give any room a new fresh look. Primer is always a good idea if you are unsure what the surface is you are covering because different sheens and bases can throw an unexpected curve ball.
Colors can drastically alter the ambiance of a room because depending on experiences and culture, colors can make us feel calm or energized, happy or sad, edgy or relaxed. They can affect the mood of a room as well, making it seem open and airy or small and cozy. Strategically placed accent walls can give a small room more depth. At our paint counter we offer color cards with complementing colors to be paired. Borders can also give a room a different look.
