Dietrich downs a monster buck
Friday brought the thrill of a lifetime for 16-year-old Parker Dietrich of Kiel. Hunting in the Town of Schleswig, Dietrich bagged this 17-point monster buck which weighed in at 160 pounds. He was hunting with his father, Dean, and other friends at the time of his successful shot.

Huskies Boys BB Senior Night - VIDEO
The Friday, Feb. 18 boys basketball game at New Holstein High School featured a special moment. With it being Senior Night, senior Tyler Zipperer suited up for the Huskies. He missed the entire football and basketball seasons with a knee injury suffered in an early-season football practice. Zipperer started Friday's game and-with the help of an arrangement between both coaches and the officials-the Huskies won the uncontested tip-off and got the ball to Zipperer, who made an uncontested layup. Plymouth was then given an uncontested layup as well. The Huskies in-bounded the ball to Zipperer, who dribbled over to the Plymouth coach, stepped out of bounds and thanked him for the favor. New Holstein's girls soccer team captured the WIAA Division 3 Girls Soccer state championship scoring a pair of close victories in the state tournament held at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. The Huskies beat La Crosse Aquinas, 3-2, in the semifinals, and then used Kayla Bertram's goal in overtime to beat Racine Prairie School, 2-1, in the state title match. Kiel brought nearly 3000 fans to the Kohl Center in Madison as their Raiders looked to beat its fourth straight number one seed in tournament play. they took on Maple Northwestern in a WIAA Division 2 State Semifinal Game. EWC Boys Swim Meet and WIAA State Boys Swim Meet - VIDEO
Kiel and Plymouth battled it out for the team title at the 2010 Eastern Wisconsin Conference Boys Swimming & Diving Championships held at Kiel High School on Saturday, February 6. The Raiders held the lead with three events remaining, but Plymouth rallied to take home first place.

The 2010 WIAA State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships took place Friday, Feb. 19 at the UW Natatorium in Madison. Kiel's Nic and Tim Halverson each medaled in the 500 yard freestyle. Kiel and Chilton/Valders Boys Swim Team meets. VIDEO
During their home opener, Kiel won nine of the 12 events, however Port Washington had just a bit more depth and defeated the Raiders 90-86 in a boys swimming non-conference dual meet.

Kiel freshman Elizabeth Buchholz competed in the WIAA State Division 2 Girls Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Wisconsin Natatorium in Madison. New Holstein football ends season - VIDEO
New Holstein High School's football team went messin' with sasquatch on Saturday, Oct. 31 and gave the top-ranked Big Foot High School team all it could handle before falling 21-7. Austin Polster recorded a 73-yard touchdown run on the game's first play from scrimmage and New Holstein carried that 7-0 lead into halftime. This was against a Walworth team which was unbeaten and had outscored its opponents by an average score of 36-6 this season. In the second half, however, a controversial pass completion set up Big Foot's first score, and a blown assignment in the secondary gave the Chiefs another score. New Holsteins rolls to 40-0 victory - VIDEO
In a much easier game than expected, New Holstein High School's football team rolled to a 40-0 victory Tuesday evening (Oct. 27) over visiting Mayville-a team which played in the state championship game just three years ago and destroyed New Holstein in an opening round playoff game on its way there. New Holstein controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, allowing senior Austin Polster and junior Cody Thede to find the end zone several times each. Chilton Homecoming Parade and Football Game - VIDEO
The Chilton High School 2009 Homecoming Parade took place uptown on Sept. 18. At halftime of the football game, seven Chilton businesses had their mascots take part in a race similar to the Milwaukee Brewers Sausage race. Chilton faced Mishicot in the Homecoming football game. 17th Annual Raider Cross Country Invitational - VIDEO
The 17th Annual Raider Invitational was held in near-perfect conditions at Kiel High School.

Kiel girls placed third with 105 points trailing just champion Cedar Grove-Belgium (85) and runnerup Fond du Lac St. Mary's Springs (93). The Raiders beat four conference schools, three of which are conference title contenders with Kiel.

Kiel boys were fourth at 119 points. Valders won the team championship with 57 points with Cedar Grove-Belgium second at 72 and Plymouth third with 76. CLICK THE HEADLINE TO VIEW THE VIDEO

1st Annual Sarah Adams Memorial Run/Walk - VIDEO
Despite a downpour, the 1st Annual Sarah Adams Memorial Run/Walk, part of the Kiel Picnic celebration, took place on Saturday, August 8.

Organizers of the event, Erick and Anne Adams, parents of Sarah, were extremely pleased with the turnout despite the inclement weather. Sarah Adams, a former Kiel High School athlete, passed away last winter in a traffic accident.
